Hybrid Work: Beneficial or Problematic for Your Marketing Team?

Hybrid Work: Beneficial or Problematic for Your Marketing Team?

No doubt, the pandemic has changed many aspects of our lives. Due to the quarantine restrictions, companies had to switch to remote work. A couple of years ago the idea, that someone can work with the same performance level and efficiency from home was not taken seriously. However, the pandemic shaped the current reality, and the traditional approach of the working process was significantly changed. In the post-pandemic time, some companies called out the home office and suggested their teams be present in the office at least 2-3 times a week. This working system is called a hybrid.

The hybrid schedule allows the employees to create a flexible schedule, balancing between home and office.  That approach is already used in many large companies. In Apple, for instance, the coworkers can stay in the home office two days a week with additional two extra working weeks in the year. Facebook employees can always work from home in case their manager approval. Even Google claims that 20% of their team can switch to the home office.

Some marketing companies also currently use the hybrid model. Surprisingly, the hybrid schedule brought a certain positive impact on the marketing agencies. Adello collected the main advantages of hybrid work in marketing agencies.

Shortening the terms of campaigns turnaround

The hybrid schedule can help to make the time spent on the campaigns process shorter. Usually, different marketing departments that work on the campaign have the same working hours. Today, thanks to the hybrid system, the process can be accelerated by adopting different work schedules. Having teams working at different hours will let them leverage the working processes better and ensure a smooth workflow.

Flexibility increases efficiency

65% of the American coworkers claim that they have a poor life-work balance. Flexible schedules allow people to have a better life-work balance. The home office allows reducing commute hours which decreases the level of stress, saves up cost and time. The hybrid model still allows employees to meet at the office and collaborate in teams to support healthy work culture and inclusion. Thus, making your work efficiency much more productive than usual.

Flexible online meetings and conferences

Meeting with coworkers and client is an inescapable part of marketing. Previously, some of the meetings were organized very traditionally: the parties would have to plan the time and place.

Because of the pandemic, the conferences and meetings would have to become virtual. The main benefit of the online meeting is flexibility. The different members of the meeting can be in different places with the different time zone. That is how negotiation can be faster and save much time. On the other side, the hybrid mode re-opens the opportunity to run face-to-face meetings or small groups workshops. It is important, as never before, to share the energy, motivate team members, and show leadership to increase the productivity of existing staff and onboard new ones.

One of the main components in the marketing profession is to overview the strategies which are used. The important lesson that pandemic taught us is that many aspects of our lives would never be the same as previously.  The hybrid working system has shown that it is not just a futuristic idea but a part of our reality today. If the working process is planned correctly, flexibly, and disciplined, the companies can benefit from such an approach, and marketing companies are not an exception.
